EV customer Testimony
Kirsty Oates and her family were over the moon to find out how eco-friendly Burton Constable Holiday Park was during their recent camping holiday on the Park.
“I bought an electric car 3 years ago, which at the time was a fairly new thing so the car didn’t have a lot of range – in fact, our car only has a range of 79 miles so we are always a little anxious of running out of power,” Kirsty explained.
Kirsty had travelled from Birstall just outside of Leeds and charged her car at Howden en route to Burton Constable Holiday Park. They planned a visit to the seaside as part of their holiday and to celebrate Kirsty’s birthday with friends but were slightly anxious that they wouldn’t be able to find adequate charge points along the way.
On arrival at Burton Constable Holiday Park, Kirsty was greeted by Park Wardens who chaperoned them to their pitch. Whilst driving past the Lakeside Bar area, Kirsty noticed the Park had four electric car charging points and was absolutely delighted.
“I was very impressed to find a Holiday Park that has chargers on site and one that was so accommodating to customers with electric vehicles. This is the first time we have visited the Park and we had such a wonderful time. The Park was so tranquil and eco-friendly and all the staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be returning very soon,” said Kirsty.
It’s fantastic to see that the newly installed EV chargers are benefitting our customers and helping the environment too. We’re so proud of our conservation around the Park, particularly with our David Bellamy Award.
The EV chargers have been an ambition for a while now, and the lockdown gave us an opportunity to prepare the ground and extend the Wi-Fi (which now runs across the whole touring area) for 24/7 electric car charging.
If the Climate Change target is for all cars to be electric or hybrid by 2030, we knew we had to get our skates on! It’s been a challenging project and hearing Kirsty’s appreciation has made it all worthwhile. We are pleased to be able to add this service to our first-class offering at Burton Constable Holiday Park and look forward to welcoming more guests with electric vehicles.
