Caucasian fir

The Caucasian Fir, also known as Nordmann Fir, is a stately conifer native to the mountainous regions of the Caucasus and northern TĂĽrkiye. This evergreen tree is prized for its symmetrical shape, dense foliage, and soft, glossy needles.

The Appearance

The leaves are dark green on top and silver underneath. It typically grows to heights of 40-60 meters (130-200 feet) with a trunk diameter of up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) in its natural habitat. The tree produces small, cylindrical cones that start off green and mature to brown.

The Caucasian Fir produces both male and female cones. The male cones are small and reddish to yellowish, clustered near the tips of the branches. The female cones, which are cylindrical and upright, measure 10 to 20 cm (4 to 8 inches) long.
