About

Burton Constable Hall is a magnificent Elizabethan country house located in East Yorkshire, England. It is surrounded by 300 acres of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown in the eighteenth century. The Constable family has lived on estate for over 900 years and has been based at Burton Constable since it was built almost 500 years ago.

Remodelled in the Georgian style in the eighteenth century, the Hall has fabulous art, scientific and antique collections brought together over 33 generations of Constables.

The grounds are immaculately kept and make for very good walks, and the centuries-old stable block contains the skeleton of a sperm whale collected in the 19th century. You could also visit the fantastic Stables Kitchen, where you can get delicious coffee, homemade cakes, sandwiches, afternoon tea etc.

Visitors staying at Burton Constable Holiday Park can easily walk to the Hall via the metal road across the bridge from the Lakeside Bar, or via the airstrip accessed through the gate in the south-east corner of the Meadows. Visitors should head straight to the ticket office in the Stables Kitchen.
