Park layout
The main roads throughout the park are tarmacked. Access roads leading to lodges, caravans, glamping pods, and around half of the touring pitches are gravel. Some gravel roads are more compacted than others due to regular use, but they may still be challenging for pushchairs, wheelchairs, or walking.
During night hours, there is strategically placed lighting throughout the park to help you safely find your way to and from your accommodation and other facilities.
reception & sales office
Both the Reception and Sales Office have a small step at the entrance. The main doors are kept open during opening hours. A secondary door is also available and typically open during the summer months. In winter, this door may be closed, but it is glass-panelled, allowing our Reception Team to see you and open it as needed.
A defibrillator is located in the telephone box at Reception. In case of an emergency please contact the reception on 01964 562508 for the defibrillator code.
car parks
There are several parking options available throughout the park. A gravel car park is located to the left of Reception, with spaces for staff and visitors. Designated disabled parking is directly in front of Reception, clearly marked with blue signage.
Additional parking is available to the left of the Lakeside Bar, with disabled bays directly outside, marked clearly on the ground.
park facilities
Lakeside Bar
The Lakeside Bar has three access points: two leading into the conservatory areas and one main entrance with a small ramp. The conservatory entrances have a small step.
Inside, the bar is equipped with disabled toilets and a baby changing area, located as shown in the below image gallery.
Parkland Kitchen
The Parkland Kitchen can be accessed either from inside the bar or via the outdoor hatch, which is situated on hard, level ground.
Woodland Store & Café
The Woodland Store has a small step at the entrance, but once inside, it features laminate flooring throughout and a low serving counter.
assistance Dogs
All of our amenities at the park are dog-friendly. We strive to assist guests as much as possible and will do our best to help you find suitable accommodation for you and your assistance dog.
accommodation
caravan & lodges
At present, none of our caravans or lodges are wheelchair accessible. However, we hope to add a wheelchair-accessible lodge or caravan to our hire fleet in the new year.
touring
Touring pitches are either grass or gravel standing, which may be challenging for pushchairs, wheelchairs, or those with limited mobility. If you book directly with us, we will do our best to allocate you a pitch as close as possible to the facilities block.
Our touring facilities include a separate accessible wet room equipped with a toilet. Access to this facility is via RADAR key, so please remember to bring your own.
The facilities block is accessible via a tarmacked road, with flat paving leading directly to the disabled toilets. Additionally, low-level pot washing facilities are available on the side of the amenities block closest to the road.
Baby-changing stations are available to use.
glamping
The glamping pods are accessed via a gravel road and each features a small front deck, which requires stepping up to enter. The glamping facilities, accessed via some steps, include a low-level pot wash area and a small toilet and shower block.
cottages
The cottages at BCHP are accessed via a gravel walkway and have a step at the entrance. All bedrooms and the bathroom are located on the first floor, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.
