About This Plant

The silver birch, scientifically known as Betula pendula, is a graceful deciduous tree native to Europe and parts of Asia. It is one of the most iconic and recognisable birch species, known for its striking white bark that peels in paper-like layers.

The Story

Silver birch trees have triangular, serrated leaves that are bright green and turn yellow in the fall, adding to their visual appeal.

They produce drooping clusters of small, greenish-yellow flowers in the spring, followed by the development of small winged seeds.
