New Beginnings

Happy Easter, everyone! Easter is a time for new beginnings – re-indulging in chocolate given up for Lent (very exciting), and this year it coincided with the beginning of the new financial year (less exciting). Furthermore at BCHP it signalled the retirement of our much-loved General Manager, Bryne. Jack is stepping into Bryne’s role and is looking forward to the challenge. This weekend he is working in the Parkland Kitchen with Libby, so pop by to see him in a new environment (probably not wearing a tie).

It is a very exciting time for the Park. We are looking forward to some brand new units arriving on Wycliffe in the next weeks. Our project to deck or skirt stock units is ongoing (get the Park looking smarter!), and the rental fleet continues to grow. We have been getting quotes to fence off the area north of the play area for the hotly-anticipated BCHP dog run. Finally, you will have noticed the new entrance sign – the old one was looking a little tired but it had a very good run; it must have lasted decades!

We have been getting good feedback from fishermen on the north lake’s restocking, and have relaunched the Parkland Kitchen so on Friday and Saturday nights you can get comfort food by the Lakeside Bar. We are so looking forward to springtime weather complementing the sprouting buds of spring so you can enjoy the changing face of the Park’s nature in a more sunny setting than so far this year!

Loyalty Cards – coming soon!

The new loyalty cards for owners will arrive within two weeks, offering more convenient access to exclusive deals while at the park.

These cards enable you to accumulate points with each drink purchased at the Lakeside Bar. Accumulated points can be redeemed for a complimentary drink. In the future, these cards will also provide access to special offers exclusive to owners at the bar and Parkland Kitchen.

The cards operate in a similar manner to gift cards; present them to the bar staff, who will swipe them to apply your offer.

After arrival and successful testing, the cards will be ready for pickup at either the Reception or the Lakeside Bar. We will update you as soon as they are available!

Thank you to everyone who had a drink on us at The Lakeside Bar to celebrate Mr C’s birthday. He would have loved to have been part of such a fun evening and to see you all enjoying yourselves.

We are now planning our next Owners’ Event which we have booked in for Saturday 25th May – save the date! We will send out more information around the event closer to the time.

Not long to go!

Phase 1 of KCOM’s superfast broadband installation is complete despite the terrible weather and ground conditions. They are currently working on snagging and repairs to Wycliffe, and simultaneously rolling out Phase 2 (the Lakeside); this should be finished at the end of April.

Then the final phase is Meadows which should be finished by the end of May (fingers crossed). They have timetabled some of June for final repairs and making sure the Park is put back exactly as it was. We will be organising several information sessions around KCOM in the next weeks, please stay tuned for more information.

Sakina and Matthew will serve as our new touring wardens for 2024. With extensive backgrounds in hospitality, they are dedicated to ensuring that everyone’s holiday experience runs smoothly. If you happen to encounter Sakina or Matthew while you’re out and about, please don’t hesitate to say hello!

Matthew’s Story: From Design to the Great Outdoors

So, I’m Matthew. I’ve always had a thing for design, which led me down some interesting paths. After studying design, I found myself diving headfirst into hospitality. One highlight was working on projects led by the legendary Jamie Oliver in Australia. But eventually, I realised my heart belonged to design. So, I returned to the UK and dabbled in kitchen design with Wren Kitchens.

But you know what? The call for adventure was too strong to ignore. That’s when I stumbled upon a vintage Mercedes school bus on eBay for just ÂŁ3.5k. Best purchase ever! I converted it into a cosy little home on wheels and hit the road. And here I am now, ready to make your stay at Burton Constable unforgettable.

Sakina’s Path: Hospitality Expert

And I’m Sakina. My journey has been quite different, yet just as thrilling. Hospitality has always been my forte. Running a wine bar in Leeds was truly a dream come true for me. However, when the pandemic struck, the landscape shifted drastically. With my business nestled in a bustling office district, the uncertainty of remote work made it too risky to persevere.

That’s when I decided to embrace change and explore new horizons. When Matthew proposed the idea of travelling the world together, I couldn’t resist the opportunity. It’s been an incredible adventure thus far, and I’m eager to share it with all of you.

Our Shared Passion: Eco-Friendly Explorers

Sustainability is a core value for us. Throughout our adventures across Europe, we’ve remained steadfast advocates for eco-friendly travel practices. Central Spain holds a special place in our hearts, offering a tranquil alternative to the bustling Spanish beaches. Our van reflects our commitment to sustainability, adorned with eco-friendly and recycled furnishings that align with our values.
