Family Update

Burton Constable Holiday Park began in 1968 by the current family’s father and grandfather, Mr C, as a small touring site. Over 50 years of progress and development, it is a 5-star and 5-pennant luxury holiday park with static caravans, holiday lodges, rental units, glamping, camping, motorhomes and touring caravans.

The high-quality shop, bar and catering, meticulous grounds, customer service, maintenance and reception are managed by high-quality dedicated staff.

Of the family behind the Park, Rodrica has been a Trustee and head of the family for the last 12 years, and Jack joined the business full-time in 2022 following a career in business. Together they work closely with the whole team to ensure the continued 5-star quality of the business, and to fulfil Mr C’s wish for the Holiday Park to continue down the generations after him.

While Rodrica and Jack work together behind the scenes, they bring a spread of experience in their specialities and are committed to their joint continued wish to invest, conserve and enhance the Holiday Park down the years.

This is a true family business, which includes our staff and our customers, and the commitment this brings. As we grow, we are focusing on broadcasting the news of our beautiful Park and sharing its qualities as broadly as possible, and including our amazing owners in our journey. We will be having another owners’ event in a few weeks and hope very much you will join us.

Meet the Team

Featuring a member of the BCHP Team

Park Manager Lee

Meet Lee, our newly-appointed Park Manager, who is working alongside Bryne, our general manager. In this new position, Lee is adding to his role as Head of Grounds and has taken responsibility for managing the overnight running of the Park for our holidaymakers. Moreover, he will be at the forefront of some very exciting projects we have in the works for the Burton Constable Holiday Park & Arboretum. More details will be coming soon regarding our projects for The Lakes and The Arboretum.

“Where do I start? Well, firstly I’d like to say hi to you all ‒ owners new and old.

My name is Lee, I started at the Park approximately 8 years ago as one of Grounds team. For around the last 5 years, I have been the Head of Grounds, mainly responsible for the Grounds and infrastructure and the wonderful look of the park.

Working closely with General Manager Bryne, alongside Jack and Rodrica, we have been hard at work to implement new ideas and invest in the guest experience here at Burton Constable Holiday Park. Very exciting times ahead!”

A few notes from Lee and the grounds team

The grounds team is hard at work every day maintaining a high standard of presentation. We want to give a polite reminder of owners’ responsibilities in doing their part to keep their pitches presentable:

  • Please keep control of the weeds around the perimeter of your pitch, including your drive, by pulling out weeds and wildflowers, and spraying the necessary areas.
  • Please refrain from parking on the lawned areas around your pitch.

A big thank you to you all for maintaining a high standard across the Park.

Jack Interviews new owners – Simon & Victoria

Please join us in welcoming Simon & Victoria

Jack: “What enticed you to the idea of Holiday Home Ownership?”

Victoria: “Now our oldest are grown up we no longer have school dancing and sports commitments, so we have more free time. We saw the appeal of getting away from day-to-day life.”

Simon: “We have had our lodge for a couple of months, it is exactly what we were looking for. We are both still very busy at work and there is often the temptation to keep working into the evenings and weekends ‒ this eliminates that for us, all by travelling a couple of hours down the motorway.”

Jack “Is it an escape just for the two of you, or are you planning to bring the extended family too?”

Victoria: “Absolutely it is for sharing. Not every week, mind you – we also want time to ourselves! Our youngest daughter has already been a couple of times, and it is also a great place to spend really good quality time with our parents.”

Jack “Why did you choose Burton Constable Holiday Park?”

Victoria: “We were looking for a quiet country retreat close to the coast, with new places to explore in a part of the country we were unfamiliar with.”

Simon: “We are looking for a base from which to explore – this is 10-15 mins from the coast, and in the middle of the countryside.”

Victoria: “We initially looked for a coastal site, but Simon loves his fishing and the countryside and this was perfect in-between.”

Jack “And how have you found the experience so far?”

Victoria: “I love seeing the Park through the seasons: the Arboretum is gorgeous – I have so enjoyed early-morning walks, the nature is different every day.”

Simon: “I was disappointed that there is no fishing on the lake for now. If we had realised there was not fishing, we probably would not have come to see the Park – though having been here now I would not prejudice it for this.”

Jack: “Lee is spearheading our plans to improve the Lakes. He is keen for volunteers ‒ would you be keen to take part?”

Simon: “I can’t promise to be an expert in Lake management but I would be happy to be an extra pair of hands!”

A pause on fishing

Our plans for the future of the Lakes

We appreciate the feedback we have received regarding the lakes and fishing. We have taken these suggestions on board and have been taking collected advice from several professionals with expertise in fish stock, lake ecology, and historic landscapes. Lee is coordinating efforts to engage the fishing community in this project.

You can read more about our plans for the lakes in the article linked below
