Family Update

In restoration

We are coming to the end of two parts of ongoing improvements to the Park – you will have seen the work to the Lake and the Arboretum, and you may have glimpsed the Arboretum featuring in the Yorkshire Post recently. These are exciting projects that will be the focus of much work over the coming months and which will improve the Park for everyone.

We strongly believe that living and working in such a beautiful area comes with certain responsibilities. There is a sense of being a link in a chain – each generation acts as custodian, whose duty is to pass it onto the next generation, but not just maintain, improve too.

The first summers when Jack worked on the holiday park in the mid-noughties, Mr C was overseeing two major projects – the walled gardens that are open to customers (ask at Reception), and the ladies’ bathing pool in the parkland just south of the Capability Brown bridge. Rodrica oversaw the rebuilding of the Facilities Block and refurbishing the Bar and has done a huge amount of work in ensuring the park is fit for the future. The recent investment is not purely aesthetic (i.e. in the lakes and arboretum); the next few months of work with KCOM will provide the Park with high-speed Wi-Fi to keep up with today’s bandwidth demands – even on holiday!

It is the long-termism which comes with a family business that gives us the confidence to invest in the Park and make improvements. We look forward to continuing to invest in the Park and the surrounding area for the benefit of our owners, visitors and the local community.  As with the generations before, we will eventually hand on the responsibility of managing and improving the business to the next generation – as we hope that you will share your holiday homes with your families and your descendants, all of who we want to benefit from the BCHP experience.

Park updates

The Parkland Kitchen

The Parkland Kitchen will be closing for the season commencing on Monday, November 6th, 2023. The kitchen team eagerly anticipates welcoming everyone back in the coming year. We would like to thank you for your custom over the 2023 holiday season.

The Lakes

We are excited to announce that fishing has returned to the park this week, which is a source of great joy for us. We extend our gratitude to all the volunteers and the dedicated grounds team for their successful efforts in managing the lakes, ensuring their vitality. The ongoing process of rejuvenating the lakes remains a priority, and we are committed to maintaining them to restore their natural beauty once more.

The Arboretum

After successfully planting numerous trees in the arboretum this September and October, we are thrilled to announce the commencement of phase two of this project. In this phase, we will be adding more trees with the hope that they will thrive for generations to come. This is an exciting time at BCHP as we are now able to fulfil the earlier plans for the arboretum, creating a place for adults, children and wildlife to explore and enjoy.

Bringing full fibre broadband your way!

We are excited to inform you about our partnership with KCOM to introduce high-speed broadband to the park. The project is set to commence in the coming months, and is expected to continue for approximately three months. This initiative involves the establishment of the necessary infrastructure to provide everyone with access to this enhanced broadband service

Upon completion of the infrastructure installation, owners will enjoy access to full-fibre broadband that is a remarkable 13 times faster. To put it into perspective, the average broadband speed in the UK stands at 65.3Mbps. With KCOM’s network, you can experience speeds of up to 900Mbps. For further information on KCOM and their full-fibre broadband, please visit their website.

While this work is in progress, there may be some temporary disruptions within the park, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this exciting development.

Meet the Team

Featuring members of the BCHP Team

Bar Manager Julie

Back in 2010 I was employed as part of the bar team, and here I am, the manager! It’s been one hell of a ride, with so many incredible experiences along the way; from the Radio 1 Big Weekend to outdoor cinema events and themed parties, to mention just a few.

I have always been grateful to be part of the Park and for the position of Bar manager. I am a huge believer that your only as good as the people you work with, so I would like to take this opportunity to give a big shout out and thank you to the Bar team past and present, they’re the ones who make everything possible and keep the party going.

The owners’ events have proven a success and hopefully show how much the park values them. We’re all about having fun and would like more of you guys to have many more memorable times at the bar. Don’t miss out on anything – starting with the New Year celebrations, with the amazing Martin Jackson; tickets are already on sale at the bar and reception.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone next season and we will have plenty of entertainment coming up soon.

“Moving forward I want everyone who steps foot in our bar to feel welcome and have an enjoyable time.”

Julie, Bar Manager

Upcoming Digital Projects

Advancements from the tech Team

If you have been checking up on the BCHP website, you may have noticed some changes. Inspired by feedback from you, owners at BCHP, we have been developing functionality to better document and navigate the goings-on at the Park. All whilst making some style improvements along the way. We really hoped to have a fully finished release for you to explore, and it’s very nearly ready! The owners’ portal has updates to come which we will announce and demonstrate when it’s complete.

A recent project that we really enjoyed was adding graphical icons to the interactive map for the arboretum. This helps to identify the classification of the trees at a glance. A nice touch to the map whilst we continue to add further details and information.

“With the vast amount of park projects underway, Charlee and I feel like journalists. Documenting the present, future and even the rich history of the Park. All whilst trying to add an exciting and engaging twist to how it’s presented.”
