1. East Park
East Park is Hull’s largest park, spanning over 120 acres of beautiful parkland. It features a large lake, a children’s play area, an animal education center, and a café. The park also hosts fairs and various events throughout the year.
East Park is the perfect place for a stroll, no matter the weather. In the summer, explore the many paths that wind through the park, and in the winter, enjoy a walk through rustling leaves, finishing off with a hot drink from the Pavilion Café.
2. Hull’s Fish Trail
Hull’s Fish Trail offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the city while keeping the kids entertained by spotting 41 different types of life-sized fish art. Each fish is accurately represented, making it an engaging way to discover Hull.
Created by artist Gordon Young in 1992, the trail begins next to the City Hall Ticket Office and ends at the top of Whitefriargate. It’s a tribute to Hull’s rich maritime heritage, blending art with history in a fun and educational experience.
3. Burton Constable Holiday Park
At Burton Constable Holiday Park, you’ll find plenty of scenic routes to explore, from the enchanting Bluebell Woods and serene lakes to an arboretum featuring over 200 species of trees!
All attractions at BCHP are free to visit, with free parking as well. Bring the whole family, including your dog, for a peaceful day out. Pack a picnic, or enjoy a meal at the Woodland Store or the Parkland Kitchen!
4. Hessle Foreshore/Humber Bridge country Park
Hessle Foreshore is the perfect spot for you and your dog to burn off some energy. With free parking and public toilets, it’s an affordable and convenient day out.
Nearby, you’ll find a pub and Humber Bridge Country Park, which offers walking trails, a pond, and a small children’s play area.
Surrounded by cliffs and trees, the country park offers an engaging environment for the whole family. With numerous information boards and online leaflets available, you can easily turn this into a full day out.
5. Burton Constable Hall
Burton Constable Hall offers over 330 acres of parkland to explore, including an impressive Elizabethan mansion. The Hall is just a short walk from Burton Constable Holiday Park and can be seen from various vantage points within the park.
The grounds feature plenty of signage, trails, and leaflets to keep you engaged. There’s also a café where you can grab a bite to eat. Please note that admission fees may apply.
