What is an arboretum?
An arboretum is a carefully curated and systematically arranged collection of trees, shrubs, and other woody plants, traditionally grown for educational, scientific, and conservation purposes.
Our Arboretum
Commissioned by Mr. C in his 80th year, the arboretum plans were meticulously designed by Stephen Bean Associates in December 2007.
The design drew inspiration from the grand formal gardens of Europe, including Versailles, Hampton Court, and the Baroque magnificence of Het Loo.
Rooms & Avenues
The 30-acre arboretum is split into sections, each reflecting the corresponding room scheme within Burton Constable Hall.
Featuring over 200 rare tree species, the aim is to celebrate the blend of art and nature, inviting visitors to marvel at the natural surroundings as if they were works of art.
A Haven Open To All
We believe that everyone benefits from some time with nature, and that’s why our Arboretum is free for anyone to explore.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, looking for a family adventure or simply in need of a peaceful retreat, The Arboretum at Burton Constable Holiday Park welcomes you.
